Colorado Trip

Chris had business meetings in Colorado Springs just before the 4th so we jumped at the opportunity to travel as a family and visit some of our loved ones in Colorado. It was Crewe's first airplane trip and he was a dream passenger, sleeping both ways. Calahan was a different story. Let's just say we will be carrying on his car seat for any future flights so we can restrain him. I don't know who was happier when we disembarked the plane -- us or the passengers around us!

As I turned to look at the camera Crewe dumped this cup of ice water all over me. Cal did the same thing on his first flight!

The day after we arrived Chris had a work dinner at the Cheyenne Moutain Zoo that families were invited to attend. As part of the event we got to see the giraffes. Apparently, this herd of giraffes is the largest in captivity anywhere in the world. They were incredibly striking and graceful. Cal got to see firsthand how long their tongues can be when one reached into his hand to retrieve a cracker he was holding.
